Sometimes we deal with clients from the Hong Kong office so teleconferencing is really a godsend. It also helps immensely that the client can’t see you tearing up at her Honkie/American accent.

No, they are not laughing at you at the other end.
Stop being mean to the Cantonese. They gave the world William Hung (I think?) and double boiled herbal soup, so their poor articulation should be overlooked.
Apologies but the accent was just too hilarious. How can you not laugh at "wowcher"?
